Gate Training

Who: Any skier/racer looking to improve their skiing in gates
Racing Levels: All abilities
When: 6-8 PM Tuesdays & Thursdays

The GPST offers a gate training program that runs from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting the first Tuesday in December and runing through the first Thursday in March. (Please refer to the GPST Calendar of Events for times and schedule.) This is on snow training at the Granite Peak Ski Area (GPSA) (runs may vary). Coaches work with racers on technique and gate training in slalom on Tuesdays and giant slalom on Thursdays. This program is highly recommended for racer development to supplement the GPST Race Programs.

High school racers competing as medalists or on non-school funded teams are encouraged to enroll in this “Gate Training Program”. GPST will work out arrangements with the area high schools for practice times and coaching during high school races. It is probable these racers will practice with the high school teams Monday through Thursday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm (except for race days).
