| Who: Boys and Girls ages 19 and under (Age Classes J6-J1) Racing Levels: Intermediate to most advanced racers
With GPST Racers ages 10 years and older have the opportunity to race in USSA. The Central Division of USSA (also known as CUSSA) is divided into four regions. GPST Members complete in Region 2.
Region 2 race events provide the junior racer the opportunity to test their skills against some of the best ski racers in the Midwest (travel is required), and the opportunity to advance to higher levels of competition including FIS and Junior Olympic competitions. At this level of racing, Gate Training is strongly recommended.
GPST offers three options for racing in USSA, a one race option, a three race option and a full seven race option. GPST provides coaching at listed Region 2 events throughout the race season and the regional championship races.
Racers choosing to race USSA must: 1. Become a member in the US Ski and Snowboard Association www.ussa.org. Visit their website to download the forms. · Youth (12 and under) membership is $60.00 (non-scored) · Competitor (13 and up) Membership is $70.00 (non-scored) · Competitor (13 and up) Membership is $125.00 (scored)
