Granite Peak Cup/Club Race Schedule and Racer Dev Cup Series

Starting this year development team athletes will have an opportunity to compete in either the GPST club races which will start at the top of Exhibition or the Racer Development Cup Series which will start at the Lily Pad.  We are no longer going to set the GPST club race courses for the ability level of our development team.  This means course setting will follow the US Ski and Snowboard regulations (may include delays, advanced terrain, and rhythm changes).  Racer Development Team athletes may enter these races, but very few of these athletes have the training or skill level to race these courses and are typically forced to do so by parents and/or have no other options.  Now we have an option that will actually help them develop and a way for them to transition to our GPST program.

Racer Development Cup Series:  For the Development Team Athletes we are going to have them ski the course from Lily pad down.  They will have their own timing system (most likely will be Nastar scored)  It will be timed and awards will be given as determined by our GPST Board.  We want our development team coaches and GPST members to promote this series to the development team.  This will keep the GPST Granite Peak Cup/Club races a high level experience.  It will also allow the development team an opportunity to watch our older athletes from the Lily pad.   Another huge benefit for our Development Team athletes  starting in the Development Team races is if he can win any of the 4 races (Top Male/Top Female) he/she will then be invited to train with the GPST athletes at no extra charge for the rest of the season.

This year pictures of the Top Male and Female for each Club and Racer Development Cup race will be posted to the the Website and Facebook Page.
