GPST offers two team options for junior racers: Home and Travel. Both teams receive top-notch race coaching in a highly respected program. All racers are assigned to racing classes based on sex and age as of December 31 of the ski season. Age classes are:

U8                          7 years old and younger
U10                        8- & 9-year-olds
U12                       10- & 11-year-olds
U14                       12- & 13-year-olds
U16                       14- & 15-year-olds
U18                       16- & 17-year-olds

Regardless of the events in which junior athletes choose to compete, GPST's junior race training program is designed to grow their love of skiing and ski racing. Athletes on both teams have ample time to run gates and work on speed. Opportunities for daytime training are also available.

Our Home Team is intended for racers who have graduated from the Racer Development program and interested in moving to the next level by getting more time in the gates and working on speed.  Registration fee includes all night, Saturday, and Sunday training sessions. It also includes participation in TWO daytime training sessions.

Home Team athletes primarily race at Granite Peak Ski Area through the NASTAR Race League and the Granite Peak Cup; however, they are also eligible to register for Badger State Games and the US Ski and Snowboard Central Region II Championships at Ski Brule (or Snowriver Mountain Resort). Costs* include: 

• $800 GPST registration + $100 facilities/fundraising fee
• $35 US Ski and Snowboard Alpine General Non-Competitor membership
• Granite Peak Season Pass

Athletes on GPST’s Travel Team improve their skills by attending gate training and scored USSA, GPST, and WHSARA races. Costs* include: 

• $800 GPST registration + $100 facilities/fundraising fee
• $500 GPST Travel Coaching add-on fee
• $200 US Ski and Snowboard Alpine Competitor membership
• $150 US Ski and Snowboard USSS CR2 Regional dues
• Granite Peak Season Pass.
• Slalom and GS skis/poles, ski racing boots**

Families that register three or more children for GPST Racer Development, Home, or Travel teams receive a 10% discount!
