Colorado Spring Race Camp

What a ski season we've had, 65 degrees at Granite Peak on February 27th!?!?  That's what you'd call summer skiing not spring skiing.  We're still in February for crying out loud...

Believe it or not there will be spring skiing in CO where Coach Ron continues host his Annual Race Camp.

CAMP GOAL:

To provide an opportunity for Athletes to ski into late April with the focus on Ski Racing Fundamentals and provide them an opportunity to Cat Ski in a great environment.

ALL Athletes from (U12/U14/U16/U18) are welcome and encouraged to attend. To ensure personalized attention and best results EACH CAMP size will be limited (20 ATHLETES). Athletes will be rotated among the camp coaching staff to ensure maximum results. The focus will be on what each individual athlete needs to move to the next level.

This includes:

  • Ski Technique Improvement to the next level
  • Summer Physical Fitness Improvement Program
  • Development of Mental Attitude to be successful
  • 1 Day of Cat Skiing on the RIDGE at Loveland Ski Area (Weather Permitting)

You don't want to miss all the fun!

Granite Peak Ski Team Achieves U.S. Ski & Snowboard’s Silver Certification

US Ski & Snowboard Sliver Certification seal

GPST is now recognized nationally as a SILVER CERTIFIED CLUB.  A silver-level podium certification means that GPST meets standards to serve as an organizational and athletic model for other U.S. Ski & Snowboard clubs: It meets protocols for athletes competing at US Ski & Snowboard events, maintains high levels of financial stability, and demonstrates a consistent and long-standing commitment to both organizational and athletic success.

Certified clubs represent a vital component of US Ski & Snowboard’s talent pipeline, where many Olympians begin. Podium certification is a rigorous process designed for clubs that want to verify and demonstrate their understanding of the best principles and implement best practices into their club.

GPST is the 9th club in the United States to attain Silver Certification. Congratulations to all GPST athletes & coaches for their hard work achieving this recognition.

The development of an athlete spans many years. Success requires the support of parents, coaches, clubs and U.S. Ski & Snowboard through quality event production, training teams, projects, and education. U.S. Ski & Snowboard Training Systems are an outline developed by USSS-certified coaches and sport science staff, with the help of top coaches from around the country.
